The Library is situated on the first floor, strategically located between the Departments of Anatomy and Community Medicine. Its entrance lies directly opposite Lecture Hall 2, ensuring convenient access for students and faculty alike. The facility is fully air-conditioned and equipped with study tables accommodating four readers each, providing a comfortable and focused learning environment.
The collection features an extensive catalogue of medical textbooks, reference works, medical journals and a dedicated section of Urdu literature, catering to both academic and cultural enrichment.
The Central Library of Nawaz Sharif Medical College (NSMC) is far more than a repository of books; it is the intellectual heart of the institution, designed to support the college’s motto, “Excellence in Education, Humanity in Care.” Serving as a dynamic, technology-driven learning hub, the library provides students and faculty with access to the global body of medical knowledge, recognizing that great doctors are forged not only in clinical wards but also in the quiet, focused hours of deep study.

The NSMC Library is a sanctuary for focused study, and every user is expected to maintain complete silence inside. Mobile phones must remain on silent mode, and phone calls are strictly prohibited within the library premises. All books and journals must be handled with careāno marking, folding, tearing, or damaging of any library material is allowed, and borrowed items must be returned on or before the due date. Students must use their valid student card to borrow books and must adhere to the established limits on the number of books and loan duration. Library clearance will not be issued until all borrowed materials have been returned. To preserve a clean and conducive environment, eating, drinking (except plain water), and smoking are forbidden inside the library. Bags and personal belongings must be kept in designated areas outside, and all users are expected to maintain cleanliness. Respect toward library staff and fellow readers is mandatory; reserving seats for long periods is not permitted, and proper decorum must be observed at all times. For security purposes, every individual must write their entry and exit time in the register at the entrance, and no book may be removed from the library without proper checkout through the circulation desk.
